Services Provided For Murals
 |
When you commission a project, we start by
listing your ideas. Ideas can be gathered from
reference libraries, books, magazines etc,
anything that inspires. I can match colors from
your decor. |
 |
A few quick thumbnail sketches maybe made to help with the final idea. |
 |
We discuss budgets and time lines. |
 |
When you have decided on an idea for your
mural, we both sign a commission agreement and I provide a rendering of the final art to be put on the wall. This requires a deposit of 25% of estimated price. |
 |
An exact quote is given to you along with the
rendering. |
 |
Upon approval, another deposit of 40% is
required and your project is scheduled. |
 |
Final payment is due upon completion of
the mural. |
 |
Design time for a project varies. I usually allow a month to finalize a design. It usually takes 3
weeks to complete the mural depending on size and detail. A photo of the finished product will be mailed or emailed to you for final approval.

Options
Your mural can be painted directly on your wall or it
can be painted on muslin and applied to the wall like
wallpaper.
There are several benefits to muslin.
 |
The appearance of a muslin mural is no different than a mural painted directly onto
the wall. |
 |
If your walls have texture on them, the muslin
mural allows more clarity in detail. Muslin actually hides many defects in walls. |
 |
Muslin murals can be moved and taken to a new location in the future. Muslin murals are applied with strippable wallpaper paste. |
 |
Murals are done in my studio thereby saving time and costs to the customer and less time blocking areas in the home or office with paints and equipment. |
Other Options
Muslin murals can be hung loose using a rod pocket,
stretched on a wooden frame or stapled to the wall
then edges are enhanced with molding.
Price
 |
The price is first based on square footage of the mural. |
 |
Then the level and amount of detail is
considered. |
 |
A mural with the majority of the area covered in
minimally detailed painting starts at $20 a
square foot. |
 |
A mural with the majority of the area covered in
highly detailed painting costs as much as $80
per square foot. |
 |
I usually suggest figuring between $30 to $40
per square foot when estimating the cost of a
project. |
If you are located outside the Denver area, it will be
more economical to have the mural shipped to you
than paying for the cost of my travel and
accommodations.
If you want a particularly large mural, painting directly
on the wall would be better, as there are size
restrictions with muslin. Also, some effects can be more
effectively drawn in a unique space of the room
